As the former Artistic Director of the EmilyAnn Theatre, Bridget Gates and her team of teachers, students,  and actors believe it’s essential to continue offering theatre education to the community and children of Wimberley and Central Texas.

Hundreds of young students have created a safe, loving, and artistic community together as a theatre family.

Central Texas Theatre Academy will allow these students, and many new and future students, to continue learning,  loving, and growing with the same team and programs they feel comfortable and safe in, but now in a new building with a new name.

Thank you so much for believing in our youth and supporting them and the arts in a BIG way.

Developing a lifelong love of the arts

Our mission is to provide every child in Central Texas with the opportunity to share their dreams of being on stage and participate in theatre, with the aim of instilling a life-long appreciation of the arts.

By providing a safe, supportive space for social bonding and fostering the skills necessary to succeed in life including self-confidence, empathy, focus, teamwork and creative thinking to solve problems, it is our aim to help your children become their complete selves.

Central Texas Theatre Academy presents

Seussical ~ The Musical

Directed by Bridget Gates, Music Direction by Tommie Jackson

“Oh, the thinks you can think” when Dr. Seuss’ best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper!

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Performance Dates:
